Even though it’s a warm sunny day where I am, the very idea of September makes me want to get cozy with a good book, a big mug of tea and a fuzzy blanket. I’ve pulled together a little list to get you going, if you’re in need of suggestions.

  • I’m starting off strong with our own E.L. Winter’s books. If you don’t know E.L. in person, she is spooky-season personified. Cozy, funny, witchy, and creative, her books are perfect for this time of year! MythMatched, MythAligned, and The Ghost Writer.
  • A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. This is one of my go-to seasonal re-reads. I also love the series that is now available on Netflix. There’s even an online read-along where you can start on September 18 and follow along for 40 days!
  • Check outMabon Moon by Michelle Cooper, if you like paranormal urban fantasy. It’s a quick read and it’s available on Kindle Unlimited.
  • For a classic Fall read, Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. A masterpiece!
  • Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. The book has a different vibe than the movie, but both are fantastic! (My personal Brush with Fame was almost spilling coffee all over Aiden Quinn at an autism conference.)
  • For a Dark Academia vibe, The Secret History by Donna Tart has drama, mystery, beautiful writing, and the quintessential New-England-in-the-Fall setting.

What are your favorite Fall reads? Do you go for cozy vibes or straight up horror?
