Creatures of Habit
Welcome to Dalriata Abbey — an unusual and magical place where the fantastical embodies the mundane, and everyday detectives are tasked with solving a not-so-ordinary murder before there is another victim.
More than a century ago a peaceful group of people chose to live a communal life within the protection of the abbey walls. They dress as nuns and monks, share meals, chapel services, and sanctuary. Some chose to live in the wilder lands outside the shelter of the Abbey itself. But when there is a grisly murder within the chapel, the abbess enlists the aid of veteran detective Clive Burrows, his newest detective Nick, and the rest of his team at the SSIU.
How do you solve a murder of a peaceful, well-loved monk when there are no suspects, no clear motive, and things are not always what they seem? They might be so much more.
