3, 2, 1 … Tour!
Almost a year ago my then fiancé and I talked about a delayed honeymoon to visit friends and family in California who couldn’t make it to the wedding. We thought, maybe, just maybe we could carve it into a mini-book tour, too. Well guess what? Having a vision for something is the first step. Since that first thought, I released the second book in the Legends of Star Junction series, Keepers of the Star Path, AND our just for fun book about our dogs, The Rebel Dogs. I had no idea how this little book would open up the pathway to doing more signing events.
Here’s the thing. I love meeting people and talking about my books with readers. I love watching our cute Rebel Dogs signing their “paw-tographs”. And I love exploring on our road trips… but if it were just for my books, I would have trouble putting myself “out there” and scheduling events. It’s true. The awkwardly shy kid comes out in full force. My now husband David calls them (the dogs) our marketing team. I call them our pup stars. (Honestly, I can’t help myself with the cute expressions.) We have had fun doing signing events to raise money for local animal shelters. And this has created a book tour.
We will donate $5 for any of our books purchased at one of our book signing events on this tour, The Rebel Dogs, Return to Star Junction, or Keepers of the Star Path. On this tour we will do an event at Greater Animal Allies of Palm Springs (Mar 26), and Sequoia Humane Society (Apr 11). Our other scheduled signing will take place at one of our favorite breweries, Poseidon Brewing Company (Apr 1), in Ventura, CA.
We’re actually having so much fun with the dog book, we are writing a few more! Of course, I’m also writing away on book 3 of the Legends of Star Junction (you’re going to love it), developing a workshop, and beginning an all new novel project. Too much? Nah… will just take time.
This book tour / honeymoon spans the end of March and much of April. Then we have events later in the year that will take us to Wisconsin, Denver, Durango, and Las Vegas… would you like to talk about the magic in the world of Star Junction with Serra Wildheart (me!)? Or meet The Rebel Dogs? Should we come to your area? Let us know!
Oh, and just in case you can’t make it this time, a minimum of $2 for every The Rebel Dogs book purchased online is also donated.
Here’s to a joyful journey,
Serra
